Our Pottery Studio: Creativity Meets Learning
Opened in 2011, the Children of God Pottery Studio gives both young people and adults the experience of creating designs with our resident artist and potter while learning about pottery production from start to finish.
French Camp Academy work crew students, as well as guests, enjoy learning the process and even making their own pottery. And now, the Children of God Pottery line is available in the Log Cabin Gift Shop and in the studio’s Etsy store. Choose from decorative items, serving dishes, Christmas ornaments, gifts and much more. Look for a student’s name on the back of select items, those are entirely student-made!
The Children of God Pottery Studio is housed in a historic old post office, which served the French Camp community for more than 70 years. In the early 1990s, the town of French Camp decided it was time to replace the post office, and it was relocated to the Historic Village. After loving repainting and restoration, the building took on a new purpose: the Children of God Pottery Studio.

The Pottery Studio is one of my favorite places on campus! Susan uses her creativity, talents, and love of nature to teach and encourage students to craft unique Children of God Pottery. I’m always impressed at the beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces of art that I find.
