Our History
Recently built in 2019, the Council House Restaurant is surrounded by rich history. Connected to the Huffman Gift Shop (circa 1840), the Council House Restaurant is styled in a rustic French Country décor serving delicious food with the warmth of Southern hospitality. A large outdoor deck with a large fireplace is available for those who wish to enjoy a meal under the sky.
The Council House Restaurant is owned and operated by French Camp Academy and provides valuable training opportunities for our students. Profits are used to fund scholarships to French Camp Academy for deserving young people.

Half Sandwich - For a lighter appetite, you may choose a half sandwich (pimento & cheese, ham, turkey, roast beef) paired with either fries, chips, or a side salad. Substitutions can be made for an additional cost. $8.75
Café Original – A generous portion of fresh deli meat, sliced in-house. Choose ham, turkey, or roast beef piled high with crisp fresh lettuce, tomato and mayo on freshly made French Camp bread. - $10.75

The Ultimate Burger – Imagine the Council House Burger but with cheddar and provolone cheese, topped with plenty of bacon, our French Camp BBQ sauce, and a freshly fried egg. You may want to use a knife and fork to eat this one. - $12.00
Bunless Burger – A hand-pattied burger, grilled fresh and seated atop a generous helping of mixed greens. This burger is topped with provolone and cheddar cheeses, bacon, grilled onions & French Camp Barbeque sauce. We finish it off with a fried egg.

Our salads are all made with a mix of fresh greens for quality and flavor.
Fried or Grilled Chicken Salad – Freshly fried or grilled chicken tenders on a bed of mixed greens accented by cucumber slices, grape tomatoes, boiled egg halves, carrots, purple onion slices, cheese & bacon crumbles. You can have any dressing we serve, but we suggest this one with Thousand Island – it makes the chicken kick! - $10.45
Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad – Southwestern grilled chicken tenders, mixed greens, cheddar cheese, sweet corn, black beans, tomatoes, purple onion, and tortilla chips. Served with our house-made chipotle ranch dressing! - $12.25
Council House Chef – A traditional Chef Salad with all the great toppings of our fried chicken salad, except we’ll leave the chicken alone and top this one with a generous portion of ham, turkey, boiled egg, and cheddar cheese; and we sprinkle crumbled bacon among rings of fresh red onion. - $11.25
Broccoli Salad Tradition – Our broccoli salad has been a favorite for years because of the sweet onion-pecan dressing made fresh here at FCA. The fresh broccoli is tossed in this dressing and topped with diced tomatoes.
